Welcome to the COUNTER SURFING GUIDE where your dog can learn the skills necessary to leave your lovely fresh cooked meal on the side. Whilst dogs have been domesticated for many, many years we still need to factor in that they enjoy hobbies like scavenging for food!
Your dinner will smell like the best thing around, they will find it really hard to ignore it... unless, of course; you show them the way.
In this COUNTER SURFING GUIDE we start to teach your dog how to look away from food items and focus back on you, we also give them a job, a place to be, working through the easy to follow steps. You will practice each step till your dog is rock solid before stepping up to the next level, Working through these steps and then taking the strategy into the kitchen for further practice by which time you will have a dog that can:-
- Stay on a place
- Gain impulse control
- Leave food
- Ignore fallen food
- Walk passed food
- Let you get items out of the Fridge/Freezer
- Prepare a Meal
- Cook a Meal
- Eat A Meal
Of course this will require some effort from you too. Like any parent, showing your dog the way is the key to your dog learning this skill out in the wider more enticing world. In this guide we have squished the steps into small bite size chunks that you will aim to master before moving onto the next step. Commit to just 5 minutes a day and marvel at the results. Once you have completed these steps it’s time for you to take it to the next level and prepare that banquet – I shall be awaiting an invite!!!!
